QSControlCAD

QSControlCAD allows developers to create a simplified, completely customizable interface to control the settings of audio devices that are connected to QSC's network system platform, QSControl.net.

QSControl.net Venue Manager is a complete and robust user interface for controlling BASIS and RAVE devices. However, many day-to-day users will only need access to certain basic functions, such as gain control or adjusting specific DSP block settings. QSControlCAD provides the tools to create a simple interface for users in an environment that is similar to a Web browser.

QSControlCAD is comprised of two pieces: the QSControlCAD Designer and the QSControlCAD Run-Time Application.

QSControlCAD Designer

The QSControlCAD Designer is the tool that developers use to define the customized interface that will appear in the Run-Time Application (RTA).

The developer uses the Designer to choose from a list of standard objects that control the audio devices in a connected venue, such as channel strips and DSP blocks, and defines how they are presented to the user in the RTA.

QSControlCAD's main features include:

  • complete customization of the user interface
  • defined user roles that can restrict or allow access on a per-user basis to a number of tasks, such as muting or changing gain levels, access to amplifier standby modes, or specifying the type of DSP blocks can be adjusted by specific users
  • Web-based navigation between forms, including customizable hot spots created from any bitmap file you choose
  • Global Presets that can be attached to a hot spot, which activate a chosen Config and Snapshot for any attached device in the venue with a single click
  • access to device state views, event logs, and splash screens
  • error-checking
  • one-click publishing of the completed interface

QSControlCAD Run-Time

Once a project has been published in the Designer, venues can be controlled by the QSControlCAD Run-Time Application. This is the Web browser-like interface that users can log on to and control the venue's attached audio devices according to the settings defined by the developer.

The Run-Time Application can be as simple as a single screen, or a multi-page system connected by customized hot spots.

The QSControlCAD system has been successfully implemented in a number of venues, including the Globe Arena in Stockholm, Sweden. White Noise Software created a complete, customized environment for the Globe, tailored to their specifications. Contact us to find out how we can do the same for you.
